Sometimes life isn’t fair, sometimes bad things happen to good people, and sometimes it not only rains it pours! If you are currently struggling in your life or just feel that you would like to find more joy and peace in your life, counseling may help. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2004 and have worked for several community mental health agencies prior to opening my own practice in 2008. Currently my practice is Telehealth only. Previously I spent 20 years in corporate America in managerial positions.

As a counselor I have focused on assisting adults with a variety of issues including anxiety, career counseling, coping skills, depression, faith issues, grief, life transitions, premarital, marriage and relationship counseling, men’s issues, women’s issues, and PTSD and trauma including working with military and veterans. I am a Certified EMDR therapist.

I counsel from a client-centered approach. It is not my place to tell you how to live your life. You are the customer in counseling; you bring your issues to work on, and you set the goals for therapy. I am the facilitator, offering insight, directions, and information, and acting as a sounding board in a supportive and caring environment. I am here to help you remove the stumbling blocks and make your life more rewarding. I am also a Certified Christian Life Coach and offer a variety of Life Coaching services.

Sessions are by telehealth (video) only and my practice is open to clients in the state of Texas.

“How do coaches empower clients to transform?” The answer is knowledge combined with support and motivation. To teach is to impart knowledge and information . . .to help someone learn new ways, tools, techniques, and skills. And then we motivate, encourage, and support as they start using what they have learned.

Each person has something unique, special, and important to offer the world. As a coach, we have the wonderful opportunity to help them dig into that, remove the barriers and reach their full potential. We create the best environment that allows them to come into that themselves. There is a saying that “Knowledge is Power”, but really it is Applied Knowledge that is powerful. It is taking action and using that knowledge that is powerful.

When we teach our clients and then motivate them to apply the new skills to their life it helps them to reach their fullest potential. The more “wins” they have, the more confident they become. The more confident they become, the higher they set their goals. The higher they set their goals the more they achieve.
